Autumn shower – The heavy rain once again



The incessant rainfall for more than 48 hours has reminded us of the incredible rainfall that our country experienced this midsummer. The nation was in the brim of forgetting all the unbearable experiences gained by the Bhutanese. But this late continuous and heavy shower, swollen river bed has taken us back to the summer monsoon that we have experienced this year. The bountiful of properties were lost, many infrastructures were damaged and our pristine natural vegetation loss it virginity. Many places were disconnected with other parts of the Bhutan with rest due to the road cut off at many places. Sarpang town has lost its natural and man-made form due to the hungry swollen Sarpang river. Thimphu, the capital city was disconnected at Taktikoti from the southern region and at Zhemgang from the eastern Bhutan. Due to this, the transportation of fuel from the India has been kept in held. It has instigated fuel price hike in the capital. Such devastating damage has been caused by this summer which leads to the great loss to the country’s economy. It has also inflicted the phobia of monsoon in every Bhutanese soul. This year’s summer has disturbed the harmony and serenity of our community.
As per the Bhutanese legendary believe, the summer does end with thruebab celebration. This year it has extended to the mid of October which is almost a month after blessed rainy day celebration. This vividly shows that natural calamities have been altered due to the never-ending human activities against nature. The autumn shower comes to many as surprise pouring when everybody is preparing for winter chillness. In the western Bhutan, the farmers were preparing for autumn harvest of rice. This shower has drenched to the futile harvest. It re-wounded the unbearable scar marked on the natural vegetation, national properties and life of the human being by the midsummer devastating monsoon fall. This year summer rainfall was once again the nightmare for the individual Bhutanese. All the river bed has regained its monstrous height, streams and springs have rejuvenated the summer deeps and the all trees have once again tested its rigidity and strength with the late strong windy plight. Once again all the school going students are drenched with the unbearable heavy rainfall. It is the unexpected pouring.
Such natural devastating call comes to human with great surprise. But it happens to avenge the human’s cruelty to nature and its natural existence. Air pollution, natural landscape alteration, water defecation because of man’s undying lust and desire was the main cause of unseasonable weather changes. The humankind needed to be prepared to combat the natural avenges. 
The summer heavy rainfall and unexpected heavy autumn shower reminded us in many ways to be prepared and expect the unexpected natural calls. This has many in its own bag to let us stitch on time and save nine to move extra mile to get acquainted with successive summer to arrive in the future.
